8 reasons to avoid extreme sports

People advertise extreme sports events and tournaments as something safe and cool that you want to do. Ha! But it is not! It’s not like learning to play chess or watching a great movie, at all.

Here’s why:

1. You could get injured or die.

It may seem very convincing that the rate of people who die in car accidents is higher than the rate of those who die from skydiving. But no matter what stats show you, the truth is the same – you Can Die or at least get seriously injured when playing extreme sports. It happens all the time.

And you know, of course, those who don’t do such stupid things live forever.

2. It will cost you money.

Every extreme sport requires some equipment. For some sports like skateboarding it’s cheaper, for some like scuba diving it’s more expensive – but without exception, doing extreme sports will cost some of your hard-earned money.

Isn’t it a much better idea to spend your money on branded t-shirts or cool tech?

3. It takes time.

Oftentimes, doing extreme sports requires you to go somewhere special (water, mountain, hill). It takes time to get there, it takes time to train, it takes time to get home, and it takes time to rest. Sometimes extreme sports can take up all of your free time.

Isn’t that sad? You can use this time for such great activities as playing video games instead.

4. Your career may suffer.

Extreme sports will not only occupy your time – it will also occupy your mind. You’ll think about it, in time, the next time you do it. This often kills motivation at work and makes you only wait until the end of the workday.

It is much better to be a good employee, grow in your career and get a good steady salary!

5. You might fall in love.

There are two ways you might fall in love – first, you might fall in love with the extreme sport you play, and most likely you will fall in love with it. This is very bad due to the reason already mentioned. Secondly, you may fall in love with some of your partners, be it a coach or a coach.

What an uncomfortable situation, it is much better to stay in your comfort zone and avoid falling in love with crazy things.

6. You’ll feel bad about the times you can’t work out.

You’ll miss your extreme sport when you’re at work, when you’re away from the right place, when you don’t have time or money, when the weather isn’t good…you’ll miss it all the time. And losing something hurts, believe me.

Life becomes more painless when you have nothing to miss and nothing to lose, right?

7. Your old friends will think you’re crazy.

I bet they will. Imagine how they’ll look at you when you tell them you won’t join the Friday party because you have to get up early and go skydiving. They will think you are an idiot. Many of them will be bored when you enthusiastically tell them about your latest mountain biking achievements. Some may feel worse when they become fitter as a result of extreme sports.

And just think about the moment you get injured. “I told you so, I told you so!”.

8. You will lose interest in some normal activities

Doing extreme sports will brainwash you so much that you may stop paying attention to some of the usual activities that you now enjoy. It’s not just work. You will stop caring about cool things like watching TV shows, playing video games, and even doing funny quizzes in Facebook.

Can you imagine this? Horrible!
